Highly touted Hawaiian surfer John Florence (North Shore) dominated his Round 1 heat of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach to advance directly into Round 3. Fresh from victory at Margaret River last week, Florence opened with a heat high 8.33 to leave his two opponents Alejo Muniz (BRZ) and Tiago Pires (PRT) to play catch-up for the entire 30 minute match-up. Florence finished with a heat total of 16.26.
